Hellboy, Anung un Rama
With this new statue we wanted to explore and illustrate what Hellboy was thinking about in the first statue, it could be considered as a "from the other side of the mirror" image. The two statues may work as a pair, and the struggle we are evocating here is just between Hellboy and himself. We thought it would be interesting to focus on the contrasts between these two versions (attitude, accessories, colors...), and above all try to stay as close as possible to Mignola's outstanding style. Thanks again so much to Mike Mignola for letting us play again with his most beloved character.
Avec cette nouvelle statue, nous voulions explorer et illustrer ce à quoi Hellboy pouvait être en train de penser dans sa première version, elle pourrait être considérée comme l'image vue "de l'autre côté du miroir". Les deux statues fonctionnent ensemble et le combat que l'on évoque ici est celui d'Hellboy contre lui-même. Nous pensions que ce serait intéressant de focaliser nos efforts sur le contraste entre les deux statuettes (attitude, accessoires, couleurs...), et surtout d'essayer de rester le plus fidèle possible à l'incroyable style graphique de Mignola. Merci à lui de nous avoir laissé de nouveau jouer avec la plus célèbre de ses créations !
